Green Life Expo 2017

The Athens Clarke County Solid Waste Division teamed up with the Athens Regional Library
to welcome 2000 people through the doors today for the Green Life Expo 2017!

Honored to be front and center advertising for the event!
Got myself a solar powered fan hat from the Solar Sun World booth! Ready for the hella hot weather we surely have coming up!
The ACC Solid Waste team breaking it down! We are so fortunate to have a CHaRM ( Center for Hard to Recycle Materials) facility here in Athens, it just takes education to keep the recycling stream clean!

 Check it out!
The Athens Library has some really cool promos coming up. For instance, in February, if your library Fines are more than $50 you can come in to settle up and they'll knock off half the balance. It's called the " We Want You Back" campaign. Also, they have just received a grant to start archiving local African American history, and need people who are willing to make their historical/family materials available for scanning and archiving. I checked out a ukulele here and learned how to play it a few weeks ago. hey also have drums, looms and teach yourself electrical wiring kits among other things in the "Library of Things".
Our favorite clients, Let Us Compost gave away compost to customers today, and signed up new clients too!
The Oconee River Greenway Commission was here to let people know about the upcoming Greenway expansion. The Mayor and Commission will vote to allocate the funding at the next meeting, February 7th, at 6 pm at City Hall, so come out, step up to the mic and let them know you support the project!
Athens based online retailer, A Small Green Footprint.
Peter of the Upper Oconee Watershed Network.
 Wild Intelligence! Nature Connection programs!
Local UGA based activists Bag the Bag! Georgia is on track to become an international embarrassment if they place a law on the books at the state level that bans local communities from passing bag ordinances. It will take some work in the coming weeks to stop it!
